Favorite Product Design Books!

Assalamualaikum. Salam ukhuwah & salam 1 Malaysia. :)  Hope everyone is fine. So, today I would like to share a few design books especially for product design students. Here, there are a few my favorite books. To be honest, I still learning too. Probably, there are better books out there, but all these are recommended to you. For all beginners, probably you can take a look. For me, I would prefer to buy a books that can show you steps how to sketches to the how to render . Anyways, it is up to you. :)

1. How to Draw: Drawing and Sketching Objects and Environments from Your Imagination by Scott Robertson and Thomas Bertling. 

This was recommended by my lecturer. Plus, all the sketches just superb and you can learn it from the beginning and finally how to render you sketching. Most of product design students would probably make their sketches on A3 Folio, which would make make it good presentation of the concepts. Folio is quiet important when you are going for interview and to show them your work. So, you want it look better.

2. Prototyping and Modelmaking for Product Design (Portfolio Skills)

This book shows you a few concepts that are transformed into scale prototype. There are a few method such as clay casting, foam, wood and etc. All the prototype are hands-on. Some of designer would prefer advance protyping such as Rapid Prototyping which is easy and better furnishing. Ypu can buy this at Amazon books department.

3. Drawing for Product Designers (Portfolio Skills)

The third book I would like to recommend is Drawing for Product Designers by Kevin Henry. This is quiet good book to start with for a beginner. Luckily, it can be bought together along with second recommended book and the Manufacturing book for £53 only! Bundle of joy!! Hihi If you try explore the book, it has a lot of information there and even so, you can still using it when you're working in industry later.
